Gaming technology provider Evolution has been given the green light to host online casino games with a live dealer. The authorization came directly from Michigan Games Control Board and this is the first time that such a hybrid approach between live and online gambling has been adopted by the state.
Presentation of a new format to the State
Evolution’s new format has been carefully reviewed by the Michigan Gaming Control Board to see if it meets all of the requirements. Evolution has had its site checked and has also been evaluated to see if it meets the state’s internet gaming framework. He passed all the tests.
The new live dealer online casino games will be broadcast live on the web by several licensed operators. The games will have dealers working on the screen in real time. This new game format was launched on Thursday.
According to the executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Henri williams, the new format will offer a wide variety of games in which punters can participate via their personal computers or mobile devices. The games will include some of the classic casino options such as roulette, blackjack, and baccarat. The dealer will still be filmed and will be broadcast in real time to all participating players.
Although this live dealer online game only allows three games at the start, it is not impossible to include more games, depending on the success of the format.
The format quickly aroused the interest of major brands in the market such as BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings, who also plan to take a similar approach in the future.
Enjoying impressive success
Evolution has recently experienced rapid growth. In the second quarter of 2021, its turnover reached $ 320 million – an increase of 100% compared to the same period of 2020.
The Chairman and CEO of the gaming technology supplier company, Martin carlesund, revealed that strong demand made it possible to reach these figures. However, the company is not looking for a momentary boost but for long-term success.
Much of Evolution’s unprecedented growth has been driven by the live casino vertical – it grew 59%, compared to the second quarter of the previous year. Global demand has increased and the company has capitalized on its efforts.
During that same quarter, Evolution closed the acquisition agreement it had with Big Time Gaming, which further strengthened the reputation of the technology provider and improved its position in the market.
The company operates worldwide and covers many locations outside of Michigan where it will host live dealer games. For example, the company recently agreed to supply live casino games to Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, and Canadian Bank Note Company in Canada. Earlier this year, Evolution signed an agreement with Entain that will allow it to offer online games on the Gala, Ladbrokes and Coral platforms.
