Casino Royale dinner marks 20 years of York professionals

SHAKED up but not moved for the past 18 months, members of York’s business community are channeling their inner 007s for an evening of celebration.

York Professionals is hosting a Casino Royale themed dinner for an evening of networking and entertainment that also celebrates the organization’s 20th anniversary.

Launched in 2001, the association brings together professional service companies across the city with the aim of showcasing local expertise in this key sector, which generates a GVA of £ 464million.

It now has more than 100 members, particularly in the areas of marketing, creation and digital, business support, people and real estate, as well as financial and legal services firms, and continues to support and to defend the city’s professional service companies.

Guests at the annual dinner will be invited to the roulette tables to raise funds for St Leonard’s Hospice, and hear award-winning motivational speaker Steven Robinson.

Tickets are on sale for the black tie event which takes place on Wednesday, October 20 at York Racecourse, and is open to members and non-members. Starting at 6.30 p.m. with an aperitif, the evening includes a four-course dinner, live music and casino tables.

Guest speaker Steven Robinson came from a poor background and faced bullying throughout his educational life.

Then, a motocross accident at the age of 18 caused him to lose his right arm.

He then made an amazing positive change, proving to everyone – including himself – that you can overcome obstacles and build your own future.

Steven, who will share his story at the annual dinner, said the life-changing event turned everything upside down and “shook me to the core.”

With his resilience, he continued to rebuild his life and embark on a varied and challenging career.

York Professionals President Michelle Mook said, “As we come out of the hardships of the past 18 months, it’s wonderful to have a face-to-face celebration to look forward to. We all missed out on the real live networking and it will be great to be back in a room with the York business community.

“We are delighted to welcome Steven and delighted to support St Leonard’s Hospice, which is our Charity of the Year. Our Casino Royale theme is designed so that not everyone is shocked and presents a fantastic opportunity for professionals to network and celebrate with colleagues, contacts and clients. We hope you will join us! ”

Michelle says customers can look forward to an exciting and fun evening, with casino tables full of fake chips, to boost healthy competitiveness.

The evening is sponsored by Benenden Health, IntelliG + Ence and YO1 Radio.
